Hints

Hint 1 indicated that you needed to focus on the text at the bottom of the menu.

Hint 2 varied depending on what teams already had figured out.

Solution

Although some teams thought there was some secret message encrypted in the prices or menu items, this clue was actually in plain view, at the bottom of the page, which reads:  "Come enjoy my new café, nestled between Martha's husband and the Champ on a Joy Luck Club Daughter's street across from the Chinese dumpling restaurant.  - Sir Thomas More, owner"

Martha's husband = George Washington = Washington Street

the Champ = Muhammad Ali = Cassius Clay = Clay Street

the various Joy Luck Club (a book by Amy Tan) daughters = Jing-Mei (June), Rose, Waverly, and Lena; the only one that matches a street name in the sector is Waverly

Chinese dumpling = pot sticker = Pot Sticker Restaurant (150 Waverly Place)

The reference to Sir Thomas More is to one of his books, Utopia; the "new café" players were invited to enjoy was the Utopia Café at 139 Waverly Place.  The proprietors were kind enough to keep the clue envelopes at the cash register, to hand out to teams as they rushed in.
