Pre-Game Hints

The first "hint" was an equipment list on a webpage linked from the "B" in "Bay Area Treasure Hunt" on the front page of the BATH1 site.

The second hint was on a webpage linked from the "A" in "Bay Area Treasure Hunt" on the front page of the BATH site. It is a pseudo-rebus showing a photo of Big Ben/the Houses of Parliament (Palace of Westminster) in London, England EQUALS a photo of Shaka Zulu PLUS 1.

Answer: London time = Zulu (Greenwich Mean Time) plus one. Inaccurate, but necessary to make Clue #6 work properly, though players weren't told that at the time.

The third hint was a scanned jigsaw puzzle showing a map of the starting location, available only to members of our mailing list [BayAreaTreasureHunt@yahoogroups.com]. Players needed to download the free application, Jixxa, in order to put the puzzle together. Or they could simply view the completed puzzle which was posted the day before the game.
