about past games. Note - we are gradually redesigning the
site but we haven't gotten to the "sites within a site"
for past YABA games.
YABA5 is supported by a generous donation
from Ghirardelli Chocolate Company:

The fifth annual YABA* Treasure Hunt will be held on Saturday
September 13th, 2003. The theme will be "Charlie
and the Chocolate Factory," loosely based on the favorite
children's book by Roald Dahl.

Approximately 350 treasure hunters, in teams of between
2 and 8 people, will take to the streets of San Francisco
on foot to solve 16 clues.
The treasure hunt sector will include parts of Fort Mason,
Aquatic Park, Fisherman's Wharf, the Embarcadero, Telegraph
Hill, North Beach, and Russian Hill.
There will be three divisions: Beginner, Regular and Masters.
The game will last approximately six hours, followed by
an awards ceremony and party with buffet and cash bar at
the South End Club.
Scoring will be simplified this year - rankings will be
determined by the number of clues solved, with finishing
time breaking ties.
Members of the winning teams in each division will receive
free admission to their choice of YABA6 or BATH3. The second
and third place teams will receive prizes. The top three
teams will receive certificates of achievement.
In addition to team prizes, there will be five golden tickets
given out to individual players during the game. The
holders of these five tickets will compete in a post-game
contest for an American Eagle gold coin containing one ounce
of pure gold, valued at $375 (as of August 2003).
