YABA5 - FAQ
check-in / party

9/5/03 Updates are in red italics

Where is the check-in / finish line?

The check-in desk will be at the South End Club at the foot of Hyde Street on the east end of Aquatic Park. Every team member must be present in order for your team to finish, and their names and emails must be clearly printed on the back of the sheet.  Once your team returns your completed answer sheet, it will be time stamped and you can start to party.

Tell us about the party after the game.

The party starts when the first team finishes. We'll have catered food, plus a cash bar.   Beer and wine will be available for $3, and soft drinks for $1.  There will be no hard liquor available. Please remember to tip Wayne Black, the bartender, a South End Club member who is also a former national handball champion!

After the deadline to finish (5:00 pm), we'll score all the answer sheets then announce the winners and give out the prizes.

As soon as all teams have finished, we will also start the post-game competiton for the gold coin.

Please note that we have use of the downstairs level of the club only. That includes the main boathouse, bar area, rear boathouse area, cookshack, beach, and dock. Basically, we are not allowed upstairs but we have rented out the entire downstairs of the club.  Keep in mind that this is a private club and the members will still be using it while we are there, so be respectful of them.  Finally, absolutely no smoking in the club, including the beach and dock.

Can I have friends who don't play come to the party?

Yes, for $10 each.  They can pay at the door - though we prefer that you drop us a line in advance to let us know they're coming, so we can plan to have enough food for everybody.
