Many thanks to
James
Floyd of San Diego, whom I met on-line playing
the Urban
Challenge, and then in person at the
Urban Challenge National Championships in New Orleans
in 2003. James is a tough competitor, and also a really
good clue writer. When I was creating the Boggle clue,
I asked for his help because I couldn't get all four
of the words I needed into it. He came through! - Alexandra
Beginner

In this version of Boggle, proper names are acceptable.
In fact, you are looking for five of them. Two will be
street names. Visit them, and you'll find the other three
there. To start you off, notice anything about five of
the letters? Oh, and one of the cubes is used in all five
words!
In the Beginner version, we
oriented 5 of the letters differently to hint that these
were the first letters of the five words to look for.
What is between two of them?

Initially, I was
going to send people to the Tonga Room at the Fairmont.
So I wanted to get CALIFORNIA, MASON, FAIRMONT and
TONGA into the Boggle grid. Thanks to James, it happened.
But then...something even better happened. I was shadowing
Kendra Hershey's playtest team, and when they got to the
corner of California and Mason, and were standing outside
the Fairmont looking down California at the awning of
the Tonga, Kendra said "Oh, there's Sofia, that's
in the grid." I was - boggled! It turned out
that completely by accident, it was possible to make the
word SOFIA in the grid. And, two doors down from the Tonga
Room on California, was an awning for a restaurant at
the Fairmont called Sofia. Between Tonga and Sofia was
an exercise club called Club One. So I changed the clue
so that Club One was the answer. - Alexandra
